Welcome to O'Neill Nebraska...

Here is the branch building in O'Neill. Yes the picture makes the building look bigger than it really is! Don't worry, though, Jay and I are prepared for the task of finding new members! Looks like we will have our work cut out for us because there are 50 members but only 20 active...looks like I had better prepare for being a speaker every other Sunday! Just kidding...

Here is a 7 acre lot that we may build on. I love this piece of land because it has an old windmill as shown in the picture, it is very rustic and reminds me of the old Midwest.

Above is a picture of the library, a very old brick building, I love the history of these buildings. I also really liked how green it is and all the trees. I think the picture of the library depicts a lot of how the old building look and the greenery around town.

On my house hunting trip I had a lot of fun looking around town and getting familiar with everything. Very friendly people, something that Jay really enjoys. As you drive everyone waves and people open your door and when Jay holds the door for someone they say "thanks you." It is also very different from what I am used to and I will now be required to limit my Target trips, something I am sure Jay won't mind.

All in all this is going to be quite the adventure for us. Jay has already been on the job and they really like him so far and he is doing really well at impressing everyone. They have really been treating him well. I would highly recommend Cargill as a company to anyone, they have been absolutely wonderful in aiding us as we move and adjust. The town is really friendly and we feel like royalty walking around because the town loves Cargill- I think it really has brought in a lot of money to the area. Well that was my home hunting trip in a nutshell...except I forgot to mention my first experience with true Midwestern thunderstorms and tornadoes, words cannot describe the magnitude of these storms, it is so different from anything I have seen in Idaho. I guess it is a good thing that every house we looked at had a "safe room." I know we will have one in ours!

Day with Daddy...

Well we got to spend some really good quality time with Jay today because he leaves Sunday morning for his new job. We will miss him so much! We know he is going to do such a wonderful job as the big Plant Manager!

Almost 6 months!

My little Carson is such a big boy! He is really working hard at sitting up! He also loves to play. He loves toys, especially anything with noise. He is getting a lot of new hair in and really thinks he is quite the big boy. We got him some sun glasses since he really hates the bright sun. He really likes his sun glasses and doesn't try to take them off. Yesterday we let him feel cement and grass under his bare feet. He is so cute and fun to show new stuff too. He seems so smart and takes it all in. We all just love his laughs and smiles, what a great addition to our little family!

Jayson is enjoying him more and more each day. They both just think the world of each other and laugh and play. Jayson has been working really hard at trying to teach him how to talk. Carson loves to jabber, hmm... wonder who he gets that from!

At the end of this month he will be officially 6 months old! He is going too fast for me!

A Tribute to My Mom...

She has been the lighthouse in the many storms of my life growing up.

True and brilliant has her light shown to guide, comfort and to set a steady course.

Now she is the voice that comforts on the other end of the phone.

My mom has been one of my best friends for many years. She is a woman of example and beauty. She is a woman I hope to one day become. Thanks mom for all you do for me. I have been blessed to have you in my life, you enrich it. Many times you have been such support and love when I needed and I know it has been so hard for you to support us when we move farther and farther away. I love you and will always call you a thousand times a day no matter my location!

Bragging Rights

Mother's Day is tomorrow so I feel justified in bragging on Jayson.
He did so fabulous today playing soccer. His team played a really hard team with a girl that had to be in the 1st grade, she towered over everyone and just seemed a lot older than the rest of the kids. Jayson really handled her and her push happy teammates, he really got in there and pushed back and he stole the ball a lot. I was so proud that he didn't get intimidated and that he pushed back. I know I was a dirty player in basketball and Jake still complains about my elbows when we would play as a family, Jayson has inherited my knack for using your body to an advantage. Here are some photo highlights from his game. By the way Jayson only sat 3 minutes out of 30 and didn't seem winded or complain, he wanted to play. I am so proud!

Yep Jay's new job offer is O'Neill, Nebraska. If you look closely you can see the elevator Jay may be in charge of behind the sign. The position is FSG Plant Manager. He has worked so hard for a big break like this, and we are all so proud of him!

We are awaiting all the background checks and then when it is complete Jay will officially accept. I guess O'Neill is a lot like Hamer but just a lot farther from everything then Hamer. So new changes and adjustments for this country girl gone city. You will have to watch for more updates!

Next Clue...

Sorry it has taken me a bit for me to post another clue. But to answer some questions yes we will have to move and yes flying will be involved and no granny and pop are not too excited about it-nor are Jay's parents on both the account of the grandkids.

Here is the next clue: look down the middle of your US maps, that is the area! Yes the Mid-west.
